Dame Sarah Storey, Frank Warren and Mel Young MBE were all honoured at the biggest night of the sport industry calendar.
Dame Sarah Storey won the Outstanding Contribution to Sport Award at this year’s FEVO Sport Industry Awards on Thursday 15th May in front of an audience of 1,500 sporting stars and industry executives at a sold-out Evolution London.
Storey, who last summer became Britain’s most successful Paralympic athlete of all time after winning her 19th Paralympic gold medal at Paris 2024, was presented the award by cycling legend Chris Boardman MBE and world champion swimmer Mark Foster.

Storey was one of four winners of the Judges’ Awards, which recognise individuals and organisations within sport who have contributed at the highest level through personal and professional achievements.
Frank Warren was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award following a remarkable 45-year career in boxing, which has seen him promote some of the biggest fights in the sport’s history and manage some of its greatest athletes, including Naseem Hamed, Joe Calzaghe, Ricky Hatton and Amir Khan.
Elsewhere, Mel Young MBE, a social entrepreneur and co-founder of the Homeless World Cup, was presented with the Integrity & Impact Award in association with InsightX for a lifetime of work in combatting homelessness in the UK and around the world through the Homeless World Cup Foundation and the annual Homeless World Cup tournament.
On accepting the award, Young said, “Thank you for honouring me with this award, it means an awful lot to me, and everyone involved with the Homeless World Cup Foundation, to be recognised by you all for something I truly believe in.
“This award is being shared with everyone who has supported us since 2003, with our excellent staff team at our Edinburgh HQ, the many inspirational volunteers from across the world who help us every year at the annual Homeless World Cup tournament and to all the players and teams who are and continue to be a part of our global network, who do so much good work 365 days of the year.
“Everyone here tonight and across the world knows how powerful sport can be and especially football, I have seen first-hand the way it changes lives and the impact it can have on those who deserve it the most.
“With over 150 million people estimated to be homeless around the world and staggeringly 1.6 billion living in inadequate shelter, it is more important than ever to give those experiencing homelessness the chance to tell their story, the chance to change their lives and to be treated equally – this is what our tournament does and will continue to do for many more years.
“If we can all help in a small way, with kind and positive actions, we can create a better future for so many.”
Young was presented the Lionesses’ most capped player, Fara Williams MBE, who was homeless for seven years during the early part of her football career, and journalist Alistair Campbell.

The Business Moment of the Year, a new category introduced to shine a light on the game-changing moments that have defined the sports industry over the past 12 months, was presented to the ECB for the successful completion of sales in stakes of its franchises competing in The Hundred, which totalled close to £1bn.
Hosted by Team GB athlete and broadcaster Jeanette Kwakye MBE and TV personality Mark Durden-Smith, the star-studded FEVO Sport Industry Awards celebrates the immense work done around the sector, whether it’s the delivery of world-leading events or championing the use of sport as a platform to drive social change, to celebrating creative campaigns with an ingenious spark which spread throughout the industry and beyond.

In the main awards ceremony, ParalympicsGB were recognised multiple times throughout the night. Following an exceptional performance at Paris 2024 where Great Britain finished second on the medal table, the organisation beat stiff opposition to claim Sport Team of the Year in association with FEVO, while Channel 4 and Whisper won the Media and Broadcast Award specifically for their outstanding coverage of last year’s event. Finally, Toyota’s Every Body Moves campaign, launched in partnership with ParalympicsGB, picked up the Purpose Driven Sponsorship Award with judges praising the initiative’s ability to drive both business results and genuine impact to the community.
Elsewhere, Sela and Newcastle United FC, who were shortlisted a record-breaking seven times in a single Sport Industry Awards season, picked up wins in two categories. Sela’s game changing Unsilence The Crowd campaign won the Tessa Jowell Community Award in association with Wasserman Live for its ability to the fan experience for deaf fans, while the Saudi Arabian live events and experiences company’s wider work with the Premier League club was recognised in its second win of the night, the Partnership Award in association with Evolution London.
In a battle of endurance races, the TCS London Marathon narrowly beat the Llyod’s Tour of Britain to the line to win Event of the Year in association with Marsh Sport, however, British Cycling’s rescue of the UCI ProSeries event was heavily credited in the governing body’s winning entry for Sport Organisation of the Year in association with RPC.
Following a fiercely debated judging session which saw multiple rounds of voting to decide a winner, Speedo ultimately picked up Campaign of the Year in association with rEvolution, for its bold Olympic campaign Go Full Speedo, with judges praising the entry’s attention to detail and ability to deliver genuine business impact.
Finally, following an exceptional year for Homeground, which saw multiple pieces of work shortlisted, the creative and advertising agency took home a well-deserved first Agency of the Year title.
