England defender Tyrone Mings showed his support for NHS key workers by reaching out to two Three Lions fans ahead of Thursday night’s Clap For Our Carers.
Mings rang the two England fans, who have been working on the front line in the fight against coronavirus, which the Aston Villa defender acknowledged with personal calls.
With the support of England partners Deliveroo, which has been supporting the Clap For Our Carers initiative, Mings called Kunal Sapat – one of the top-cappers from the England Supporters Travel Club and a Lead Physician Associate at Bedford Hospital – and Sarah Mawer – who follows England home and away and is also a frontline frontline worker at Leeds General Infirmary.
Deliveroo meanwhile, has pledged to donate 500,000 free meals to NHS workers and vulnerable people through partnerships with hospitals across the country, as well as making vouchers available for NHS staff to use on its platform.
“I don’t think we can truly put into words how appreciative we are.” @OfficialTM_3 surprised England fans Kunal and Sarah, who are currently working on the frontline, to thank them for their incredible efforts.#ClapForOurCarers pic.twitter.com/U4PMNyL7Ny
