Throughout the ongoing coronavirus crisis, Sport Industry Group is using our Cutting Edge Sport section to highlight the innovations, initiatives and ingenuity of the sport industry as it aims to help solve the issue and save lives.
The ECB has partnered with Google Digital Garage in order to give cricket clubs across England and Wales the chance to learn about digital marketing and improve their online presence.
The organisation says it is the first NGB to team up with Google Digital Garage, and while it has had to postpone its original plan for face-to-face sessions in London, Bristol and Leeds due to the coronavirus pandemic, the sessions will be run virtually by Google Digital Garage trainers.
The three webinars – focusing on digital marketing strategy, digital advertising, and increasing visibility on Google – will run weekly on Monday mornings from 15th June, with each session live streamed on YouTube and lasting 60 minutes.
Nick Pryde, Director of Participation and Growth, ECB, said: “We’re delighted to still be able to offer hundreds of clubs access to free digital training in partnership with Google Digital Garage.
“We’re always looking for innovative ways to support the recreational game, which is the lifeblood of the sport, so the ability to run these sessions online will provide a real boost to clubs.
“In these challenging times, clubs will be looking to connect with their members digitally, as well as attracting new members for when play resumes across the country.”
