The Aston Martin Formula 1 Team have appointed Andy Cowell as CEO and Team Principal, as part of a restructuring of their leadership team.

Cowell, who joined Aston Martin in July last year as Group CEO, previously served as Managing Director at Mercedes between 2014 and 2020.

During his trophy-laden tenure, the team won 12 world titles, including six World Drivers’ and six Constructors’ championships.

Meanwhile, Aston Martin’s aerodynamics, engineering, and performance departments have been reorganised into two separate units: a trackside team and a team based at the AMR Technology Campus in Silverstone.

Both of these divisions will report to Cowell, under the new structure.

Mike Krack, who has been with the team since 2022, has transitioned to the role of Chief Trackside Officer, and will focus on maximising race car performance at the racetrack.

Enrico Cardile has been appointed as Chief Technical Officer, and will oversee the architecture, design, and construction of new race cars.

Tom McCullough, who has been at Aston Martin for eleven years, will remain with the group in a leadership capacity.

“I have spent the last three months understanding and assessing our performance, and I’ve been incredibly impressed by the dedication, commitment and hard work of this team,” Andy Cowell.

“These organisational changes are a natural evolution of the multi-year plans that we have scheduled to make and I’m incredibly excited about the future.”

In the build up to the 2025 Formula 1 season, Aston Martin have struck a host of new commercial deals, including recent agreements with Arm, Pepperstone, and Puma.
