Fitness tech specialist SIXPAD has opened its first European store with the help of Jonny Bairstow, dubbed “England’s fittest cricketer.”
The wicket-keeper-batsman headlined a launch event at Westfield White City London, which also featured celebrity personal trainer Faial Abdallah, Made in Chelsea star Louise Thompson and a range of fitness influencers.
As part of the event, Bairstow took on the challenge of completing SIXPAD brand ambassador Cristiano Ronaldo’s daily fitness regime: a 40-minute session involving intensive bursts of lower-body and core drills.
The England star supplemented his workout with SIXPAD wearable fitness tech products, developed in collaboration with Ronaldo, which use a 23-minute Electrical Muscle Stimulation (EMS) programme to condition muscle fibres.
The Yorkshireman commented: “That was incredibly tough and it’s amazing that Ronaldo can incorporate this routine into his daily training plan.
“I also put a lot of focus on my off-pitch training regime and SIXPAD’s range of products have clearly helped him maintain peak physical condition. The level he’s reached is unbelievable and he’s certainly the benchmark for athletic performance.”
SIXPAD’s new Westfield store is the brand’s first retail outlet in Europe. It offers fitness monitoring and training advice as part of the in-store experience.
The Japanese brand, which boasts a multi-year endorsement deal with CR7, launched its first UK campaign last year.
