UK-based consumer goods firm Unilever has penned a multi-brand partnership with Conmebol for the 2024 Copa America in the US.
The deal designates Unilever’s Axe, Degree, Dove and Dove Men+Care as official sponsors of this year’s Copa America, and will see the four brands receive promotion throughout the tournament.
The 2024 edition will take place from 20th June to 14th July across 14 US cities. For only the second time in the tournament’s history, it will comprise 16 teams across North, Central and South America.
As per the agreement, Unilever’s personal care brands will launch activations around the Copa America, both inside and outside stadiums.
“Working with the Conmebol Copa America USA 2024, our brands will connect with an enormous and highly engaged audience,” said Fabian Garcia, Personal Care President at Unilever.
“This is a significant opportunity to engage a growing audience of soccer fans, demonstrate relevance, and build brand power, while promoting sports for future generations of athletes.”
This summer, Unilever products will also be promoted at the Euro 2024 competition in Germany, after the company struck a partnership with UEFA in December.
Unilever was also a partner of last year’s FIFA Women’s World Cup in Australia and New Zealand.
Meanwhile, pay-TV provider Premier Sports has secured UK and Ireland rights to this year’s Copa America, and will broadcast all 32 matches from the competition, as Argentina look to defend their title.
