Copa90, the youth media brand for football, has appointed Scott Fenton to the new role of Vice-President of Marketing.
Fenton joins Copa90 from Eleven Sports, where he was the Head of Marketing for the UK and Ireland at the international sports broadcaster.
Eleven Sports has been facing multiple challenges in the UK and Ireland. In January, it ended its partnership with IMG – a move that has led to the end of Serie A and Eredivisie coverage over its subscription OTT platform in the UK and Ireland.
Fenton joined Eleven Sports in July 2018, having previously worked at the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), where he headed the EMEA marketing and brand strategy; at the National Basketball Association (NBA), leading its international marketing strategy; and international sports broadcaster ESPN, developing fan engagement.
Fenton, a graduate of the Sport Industry NextGen programme in 2017, joins Copa90 as it enters the next phase of its development after building record audiences in 2018. He said: “Copa90 has done a great job in telling some of the most important stories in football and I look forward to working with the leadership team to take the brand to the next level.”
Ross Whittow-Williams, Chief Operating Officer of Copa90, added: “We’re delighted that Scott is joining Copa90 at what is an exciting time for the brand and business. His marketing excellence, combined with his strong understanding of sports audiences and fan engagement, makes him a valuable addition as we look to take our brand into new areas ‘beyond content’ and to new heights.”
