Eleven Sports has appointed Scott Fenton as its new UK head of marketing and communications, as the global broadcaster prepares to launch its first two channels in the UK market.
Fenton, a graduate of the Sport Industry NextGen programme in 2017, will lead on customer acquisition, brand development and “fan-first” positioning, working closely with rights holders and affiliates as part of Eleven’s heavily-promoted “open” distribution approach.
The Englishman joins the sports media provider from mixed martial arts brand UFC, where he led on EMEA marketing and brand strategy. This followed roles in broadcast marketing at the NBA and fan engagement with US-based sports broadcaster ESPN.
Welcoming Fenton to the company, Danny Menken, Eleven group managing director, said: “Scott’s knowledge and experience of business to consumer communications as well as his background at both a broadcaster and rightsholders makes him the perfect person to lead our marketing team in the UK and Ireland.
“At Eleven Sports, everything we do is with the fan at the heart, always trying to find new ways to create value for them. Scott will be the perfect person to drive this and we are very happy to have him on board.”
