Sports nutrition company EQ Nutrition has announced a sponsorship deal with Wasps and England rugby player Nathan Hughes, who made his first start for the national team in the weekend’s win against Australia.

Hughes joins the team as EQ enters its second year of being the official performance nutrition supplier to the Wasps rugby team.

Nathan plays his club rugby at Wasps as a number eight, lock or flanker and has recently gained his first England cap under the guidance of Eddie Jones.

EQ Nutrition has been appointed to work closely with Nathan to support his training and nutrition goals. He will be mainly using the Elite Protein, Strength Surge and Amino Charge.

Simon Stevens, founder, EQ Nutrition commented: “We are extremely excited to add Nathan to our team of elite athletes. This latest addition strengthens our position as the most trusted sports nutrition brand for professional athletes and elite teams and we are extremely proud that he has recently been awarded his first senior international cap.

“After our first year working very closely with Wasps Nathan has stood out to me as a potential England superstar and his work rate and effort on and off the pitch is something to be admired and he’s also a fantastic role model for the future stars of English Rugby. Our unparalleled focus on quality and safety has allowed us to be recognised and approached by many professional sports teams and it’s a pleasure to be supporting athletes so that they can train harder, perform better and recover more effectively.

“Nathan was looking for the highest quality nutrition partner and we are extremely pleased that he chose EQ Nutrition as the most trusted brand. We are looking forward to working closely with Nathan as his career develops.”

EQ Nutrition also has existing partnerships with boxer Anthony Joshua and trainer Shane McGuigan.
