The countdown is on to the final event in the Sport Industry Breakfast Club 2018 series, which will take place at the BT Centre in London next Wednesday, 7th November.
The event will look ahead to one of the most anticipated launches of 2019 as Gfinity executive chairman Garry Cook joins us in his first major appearance since the announcement of the inaugural ePremier League next year.
Cook, whose Gfinity will operate the tournament on behalf of the Premier League and publisher EA Sports, will participate in an in-depth discussion, moderated by James Pearce.
The former Manchester City CEO is uniquely placed to offer a 360-degree perspective on the landmark venture, which will give UK-based players the chance to compete for their favourite Premier League club for the first time in competitive gaming.
All 20 Premier League clubs will be represented in the tournament, which will be played on the FIFA ’19 title, with the ePL Final set to be broadcast live on Sky Sports in March.
Cook is also expected to reflect on the experience of his five-year tenure at UFC during the period of the mixed martial arts organisation’s global expansion, as well as his involvement in launching and heading up Nike’s Jordan brand earlier in his career.
It comes as both Nike and Jordan himself are making their own first moves in esports, and follows the Jordan brand’s first foray into football in partnership with Paris Saint-Germain this year.
The Sport Industry Breakfast Club is the industry’s number one networking event series with four content-led networking breakfasts over the course of the year. Each event welcomes up to 200 guests from across the industry for an interview with a panel of leading figures from the world of sport and business.
