Grabyo has been named as a launch partner for the new Periscope API – a platform integration that will allow publishers to directly integrate with Periscope and broadcast their live streams on Twitter, instead of going through the Periscope mobile app.

This development is the latest in a series of updates as video continues to be a priority at Twitter coming alongside enhanced API integrations for key partners including Grabyo to support monetisation programmes such as Twitter Amplify.

Grabyo now provides a solution for sharing broadcast-quality live streams to multiple Twitter and Periscope accounts. With this new integration, Grabyo users can go live to Twitter and Periscope without the need to configure the stream on a mobile phone. Broadcasters can push live streams from Grabyo to any Twitter or Periscope account directly.

Grabyo’s partners have expanded the use of Periscope as a broadcast channel for premium content since the launch of Periscope Producer. For example, broadcaster BT Sport used Periscope to broadcast UFC press conferences while The FA used it to broadcast the live draw for the FA Cup in England.

Gareth Capon, CEO Grabyo said: “Periscope has proven to be a highly effective platform for reaching an engaged audience and this integration within the Twitter platform brings access to an open, real-time audience which drives much of the conversation for social TV.

“We look forward to making this available to our partners and expanding the scope of premium live content on both Periscope and Twitter.”

This week, Grabyo has also announced Cloud Producer – a browser-based production suite for professional-quality live streams. Grabyo Cloud Producer eliminates the need for costly broadcast systems and hardware.
