SailGP has inked a three-year global partnership with logistics firm DP World, which takes effect from the 2024/25 season.
Under the agreement, the Dubai-based company will oversee the transport and delivery of the global sailing league’s annual calendar.
The deal marks SailGP’s second new partnership this month, after the championship revealed Emirates as its global airline partner last week.
Through the new pact, DP World will benefit from brand visibility across race stadiums, SailGP’s F50 catamaran fleet, and on virtually around the racecourse.
DP World will also support the championship’s sustainable event delivery through the implementation of a dedicated logistics schedule that will prioritise low-carbon transport methods such as sea freight and route optimisation.
The company will provide carbon data tracking from each race, helping the league monitor its carbon emissions.
Season five begins with the Dubai Sail Grand Prix, which will take place on 23rd and 24th November.
“SailGP is one of the most complex logistical operations in sport,” said Andrew Thompson, Managing Director at SailGP.
“Transporting thousands of pieces of race equipment around the world means we need to work with industry-leading, forward thinking partners such as DP World.
“Together, we’re finding new and innovative ways to bring our global calendar and the most exciting racing on water to more fans than ever before – shaping a truly unique and authentic global partnership.“
Ahead of the new campaign, the series has additionally secured a Brazilian broadcast rights deal with GloboTV.
The commercial network will cover all 14 events during the 2025 season, including the inaugural Rio Sail Grand Prix, which will take place on 3rd and 4th May, and will be the first SailGP event in South America.
