Arsenal Women will take part in their first ever US pre-season tour this summer, the club has announced.

The team will be based in Washington DC between 15th and 26th August, where the side will face NWSL side Washington Spirit and WSL rivals Chelsea at Audi Field.

This will follow the Arsenal men’s team’s pre-season tour, which will take place across Los Angeles and Philadelphia in July.

Last year, Arsenal Women drew 42,120 live spectators for the team’s first ever match in Australia at Melbourne’s Marvel Stadium.

The women’s teams’ open training session at AAMI Park during the Australia tour was watched by more than 5000 fans.

Arsenal recently announced that Emirates Stadium will become the permanent home of the women’s team from next season, after six matches during the 2023/24 campaign averaged an attendance of 52,029.

Richard Garlick, Managing Director at Arsenal, said, “To take our women’s team to the US for the first time on tour is another sign of great progress.

“We know from our recent trip to Australia that the interest and love for Arsenal Women stretches far and wide. We want to build on that and bring our US supporters closer to the club.”
