British Extreme E team Veloce Racing has extended its partnership with E.ON.
The UK renewable electricity provider first sponsored Veloce Racing ahead of Extreme E’s inaugural season finale in 2021, and now continues into the electric motorsport racing series’ third season.
Alongside the E.ON branding on Veloce Racing’s race car, the two organisations will also collaborate across content creation with the aim of raising awareness on a range of topics closely linked to racing, energy and diversity.
E.ON will also have access to Veloce’s esports and gaming audience, allowing both parties to ‘engage with the next generation’ and focus on the ‘worlds of engineering, energy, and motorsport.’
Activities will feature a behind-the-scenes look at the Extreme E squad as it progresses through the 2023 season and interviews with Veloce’s racing stars, combined with environmental and diversity-focused projects.
The partnership is also set to act as a vehicle for creating ‘green collar’ jobs and skills alongside ‘greater diversity within their sectors.’
“Our collaboration will continue to push the boundaries around sustainable innovation and equality within our respective industries.“
DANIEL BAILEY, CEO, VELOCE RACING
Daniel Bailey, CEO, Veloce Racing, commented, “We’re thrilled to have E.ON with us for this Extreme E season following the success that our collaboration has had so far.
“E.ON remains at the forefront of the energy industry and all that they are doing in pursuit of a more sustainably powered future aligns with Veloce’s own ambitions within the motorsport world.
“Our collaboration will continue to push the boundaries around sustainable innovation and equality within our respective industries. All of us here at Veloce Racing are excited to have E.ON on board with us once again and we’re looking forward to seeing what results we can achieve this year!”
Scott Somerville, Chief Marketing Officer at E.ON UK, added, “Our relationship with Veloce continues to inspire people about the switch to lower carbon motoring and playing their part in a zero-carbon world. There is so much in common across our two organisations, and the wider Extreme E family – whether it’s a commitment to sustainability and taking action for the climate or increasing diversity and inclusivity across our industries, and we couldn’t have a better partner to share our vision.
“I’m thrilled the Extreme E season comes home with a race in Scotland this year. We can continue telling those exciting stories to our customers that the climate crisis is not some distant thing that happens in far off lands, it’s here at home, and the solutions to tackling it are also here, in our homes, our businesses and across our cities.”
Extreme E is a sport for purpose championship that raises awareness of the climate crisis and sustainable solutions by showcasing electric motorsport in environments damaged by climate change.
The Extreme E calendar begins with the Desert X Prix in NEOM, Saudi Arabia. As part of the all-electric series’ new sporting format Veloce Racing will face the challenge of two races, with all Season 3 race weekends becoming double-headers, but retaining no impact on the environment.
