Williams Racing has revealed a new partnership with Argentine digital payments and e-commerce firm Mercado Libre.
The agreement will see company’s logo feature on the liveries of Williams’ cars driven by Alex Albon and Franco Colapinto from this month’s Azerbaijan Grand Prix, which will take place on 15th September.
Mercado Libre has become the second Argentine company to sponsor Williams following Globant, after the announcement that Argentine driver Colapinto would be starting for the team for the remainder of the 2024 season.

Colapinto became the first Argentine driver in Formula 1 since 2001 when he made his debut at last weekend’s Italian Grand Prix.
The new partnership will include brand activations around the Latin American Grand Prix races later this year.
“Mercado Libre is one of the most important and trusted brands in Latin America, and their decision to partner with us is a demonstration of F1’s position as a truly global sport and Williams as an iconic international sporting franchise,” said James Vowles, Team Principal at Williams Racing.
“As the team which secured Argentina’s last F1 win with Carlos Reutemann, and is writing a new chapter for the country with Franco at the wheel, we are proud to extend our links with a country and region that is so passionate about the sport.”
Sean Summers, CMO at Mercado Libre, added, “We are thrilled to announce our partnership with Williams and Franco Colapinto as it aligns perfectly with the growing popularity of the sport worldwide and is an amazing opportunity for Mercado Libre to connect with millions of users and fans across Latin America.
“We are excited to support the Argentine F1 driver on this exhilarating journey who, through hard work and exceptional talent, has reached the pinnacle of motorsports.”
