International Paralympic Committee (IPC) President Andrew Parsons, the most powerful person in world Parasport, is to headline the next event in the Sport Industry Breakfast Club 2018 series.
The Brazilian will speak at the September 13th session at the BT Centre in London, almost exactly one year after his election to the presidency of the worldwide Paralympic movement.
Parsons became the first new IPC President in 16 years last September, succeeding Britain’s long-serving Sir Philip Craven in the role.
The 41-year-old, part of a new, younger generation of global sports leaders, will take part in a discussion about the evolution of Paralympic sport as a commercial proposition, set in the wider context of the growth of purpose-driven brand marketing.
Parsons will be joined at the third of the quarterly events in the 2018 series by representatives of the International Paralympic Partner family – including BP, which has shifted it global sponsorship strategy towards Parasport over recent years.
The session will take place against the backdrop of a new worldwide Olympic and Paralympic Games marketing programme, following a move by the IOC to negotiate joint rights packages ahead of a series of TOP programme renewals.
The Sport Industry Breakfast Club is the industry’s number one networking event series with four content-led networking breakfasts over the course of the year. Each event welcomes up to 200 guests from across the industry for an interview with a panel of leading figures from the world of sport and business.
