Nike has launched a new spot with Raheem Sterling, taking the England and Manchester City star back to his roots in Brent in north west London where he grew up.
Featuring local children playing football on the streets in the shadow of the Wembley Arch, the spot brings Sterling back to his old community where he delivers an inspiring voiceover charting his rise from being a ‘naughty kid from Brent’ to winning his first England cap at 17, speaking out against racism and inspiring the next generation.
Sterling, who won the Integrity and Impact Award founded by Dow Jones Sports Intelligence at the Sport Industry Awards 2019, has been active in giving back to the community in which he grew up. Most recently, the Manchester City forward payed for 550 children from his old school to attend the 2019 FA Cup final at Wembley which his side won 6-0, defeating fellow Premier League side Watford.
