GOODBYE TO SINGLE-USE PLASTIC BOTTLES
Not content with removing 220,000 single-use plastic bottles from tennis events in 2024 – smashing their partnership’s 100,000-bottle target – BRITA and the Lawn Tennis Association (LTA) set their sustainability sights even higher in 2025. Numerous transformational objectives dovetailed in the process: the LTA’s determination to raise its sustainability game year-on-year (towards eliminating all single-use materials from its operations by 2030) was met by BRITA setting a new target of 200,000 bottles saved, positioning itself as a key LTA sponsor and a purpose-driven lifestyle brand for 25-39-year-olds.
By distributing water dispensers/refillable filtered water bottles, and with PR/social agency Iris driving the messaging via multiple platforms/event activations/stakeholder engagements, 260,442 bottles were saved in 2025: an 18% increase on 2024, 30% above target. With many more spectators coming on board, c.0.5million bottles have been removed from LTA events to-date, equating to 77,487kg of CO2e saved: all told, a grand slam of environmental sustainability achievements.
