Wrexham AFC co-owner Rob McElhenney has starred in a new club video which highlights the cultural differences between football and baseball, ahead of the 2024 MLB London Series.
This year’s two-game series will feature McElhenney’s hometown team the Philadelphia Phillies, who face the New York Mets at the London Stadium on 8th and 9th June.
The video features US late-night television host Jimmy Kimmel, MLB commentator Matt Vasgersian, and Wrexham striker Ollie Palmer, as well as the mascots of all three teams.
The It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia star recently saw his club promoted to League One, marking Wrexham’s second successive promotion in the last two years.
McElhenney first became a co-owner of the team in 2020, along with Hollywood actor Ryan Reynolds.
Ben Ladkin, Managing Director of MLB Europe, said, “Rob and his team at More Better understand true fandom and how the universal stories that come from the love of sport can translate across oceans and cultures.
“We look forward to seeing all the different types of fans come together this June to experience the excitement of the games, and we look forward to continuing to tell those stories together in the future.”
