NBA And Dapper Labs Launch All-star Vip Nfts
The NBA basketball league and Dapper Labs, the company behind the NBA Top Shot non-fungible token (NFT) marketplace, has launched a special NBA All-Star VIP Pass NFT Auction and Giveaway surrounding last Sunday’s All-Star Game.
Hosted on NBA Top Shot, the auction includes 30 unique NFTs representing every NBA team, bundled with a VIP pass for the next five NBA All-Star contests. The first of the 30 auctions opened on Wednesday and will be open for seven days, with one NFT auction launch taking place per day.
Furthermore, NBA fans in the US and Canada were able to enter a giveaway for free with an existing or new NBA Top Shot account for an additional All-Star VIP Pass NFT, representing the NBA.
Broadcast coverage of NBA games last week featured QR codes that granted an extra entry into the giveaway, while fans who made a purchase on Top Shot until midnight Eastern Time on Monday were also able to earn five entries into the giveaway. The giveaway winner will be announced on 8th March.
The owners of the NFTs will enjoy a number of benefits, including a personalised All-Star itinerary with VIP support, an exclusive guest invitation to an NBA reception and a behind-the-scenes tour of the host arena with an NBA executive.
They will also receive two lower-bowl tickets to various NBA All Star events, as well as a shoot-around with an NBA legend on the All-Star court and a VIP merchandise bag, including an NBA All-Star jersey.
Founded in 2018, Dapper Labs is the company behind NBA Top Shot and the Flow blockchain. NBA Top Shot reportedly generated $589m (£440m equivalent) in its first 12 months, since launching in October 2020.
