Premiership Women’s Rugby has launched a new ‘I’m Powered Differently‘ campaign, which showcases how players balance elite-level rugby alongside demanding careers.

The campaign highlights the players’ resilience, demonstrating how their professional lives have supported their rugby journeys, allowing them to make crucial decisions both on and off the pitch.

I’m Powered Differently has brought to light the unique balance each athlete has maintained between their careers and rugby commitments.

The campaign launces ahead of the 2024/25 Premiership Women’s Rugby season, which kicks off on 5th October, and celebrates players who not only excel in the elite English women’s rugby division but also hold down significant careers.

Sale Sharks’ Amber Schonert, who has combined rugby with running a family coffee shop and managing her own tattoo business, stars in the new campaign.

Also featuring in I’m Powered Dirrerently is Saracens and England Red Roses centre Sydney Gregson, who, has juggled her teaching career with rugby, starting her days before 5am to fit in a gym session before school.

Meanwhile, Harlequins scrum-half Freya Aucken has recently qualified as a marine biologist, and Trailfinders Women’s centre Carys Cox has worked as a nurse, demonstrating the remarkable roles these players fulfil outside of rugby.

The campaign has built on the success of last year’s initiative, which garnered more than one million impressions and 640,000 video views through social media channels, with Premiership Women’s Rugby having broken new ground by being shortlisted for several awards and receiving high commendations at the Sport Industry Awards.

Flo Williams, Director of Women’s Sport at MATTA and a player for Saracens, played a key role in developing the campaign.

“From building the PWR brand, launching Powered Differently, SuperPWR Weekend & Finals campaign it has been a pleasure to drive the development of women’s rugby in England,” Williams said.

“As a dual career athlete myself playing in the PWR I know these incredible stories exist throughout women’s sport, being able to platform these athletes is something I’m extremely proud of.”
