SailGP has extended its partnership with Aggreko for an additional three seasons, with the energy solutions provider continuing as the Championship’s temporary power supplier.

Since 2021, the collaboration has focused on reducing emissions from event operations, with SailGP cutting temporary power emissions by 73% in Season 4 compared to the previous season.

The partnership will support SailGP’s aim to transition all on-shore event power to clean energy.

The first three events of the 2025 season, held in Dubai, Auckland, and Sydney, have all been powered by 100% clean energy on-shore.

Throughout the partnership, SailGP and Aggreko have introduced alternative fuels such as hydrotreated vegetable oil (HVO) and B100 biodiesel, doubling the number of clean energy-powered events between Season 3 and Season 4.

A live dashboard has been developed to monitor power consumption and emissions savings, with data supporting SailGP’s Impact League scoring and operational efficiency.

The 2025 season continues with the Rolex Los Angeles Sail Grand Prix on 15th-16th March.

Julien Di Biase, Chief Operating Officer, said, “SailGP and Aggreko share a common goal of being market leaders in efficient event operations. Having a major events group like Aggreko support driving change has been invaluable – from installing the largest temporary solar array at a sporting event in Dubai on our behalf, to helping us find clean energy solutions for events worldwide.

This renewed partnership provides us with the opportunity to drive greater impact and work together to continue to pioneer within the sporting industry and beyond.”
