The Australian Open drew to its conclusion and the FA Cup returned in an exciting weekend of sport. We have taken a look back to bring you some of the highlights, with a nod to the latest updates from off the pitch…


Novak Djokovic won a record-extending 10th Australian Open and a record-equalling 22nd Grand Slam men’s title by using all of his talent and nous to see off Stefanos Tsitsipas.

Serbia’s Djokovic started strongly and dug deep in the second set on his way to a 6-3 7-6 (7-4) 7-6 (7-5) victory.

Djokovic will be looking to break the Grand Slam record this year with Roland Garros next on the schedule, before travelling to London for Wimbledon.

Earlier in the month, Wimbledon Broadcast Services (WBS) announced the appointment of Whisper as the production partner for The Championships 2023 and 2024, staged at The All England Lawn Tennis Club (AELTC).


Belarusian fifth seed Aryna Sabalenka won her first Grand Slam singles title by fighting back to beat Elena Rybakina in the Australian Open final.

In an absorbing contest which showcased the power of both players, 24-year-old Sabalenka triumphed 4-6 6-3 6-4.

As tennis continues with its efforts to become a truly gender-balanced sport, the LTA recently ran a women’s tennis-focused campaign, ‘She Rallies’.
