Sergio Perez beat Red Bull team-mate Max Verstappen to win the Azerbaijan Grand Prix.

Perez and Verstappen fought a long battle after the Mexican leapfrogged the current Formula 1 champion by being able to save time by making his pit stop under the safety car.

Oracle Red Bull Racing recently unveiled PPDS, the digital display division of global electronics company Phillips, as its digital display supplier for the 2023 and 2024 FIA Formula 1 seasons.


Arsenal FC were knocked out in the Women’s Champions League semi-finals with a crushing extra-time defeat by two-time winners Wolfsburg at a sold-out Emirates Stadium.

The record crowds underlined the rapid growth in women’s football, with over 60,000 supporters in attendance in North London. The UK government recently announced that girls will be granted equal access to all school sports as part of a new package of measures following a campaign by the EURO-winning Lionesses.


Belgium’s Luca Brecel became the first player from mainland Europe to claim snooker’s World Championship with an 18-15 win over Mark Selby in Sheffield.

Brecel, 28, is just the fourth non-British winner at the Crucible and the first overseas player to triumph since Neil Robertson in 2010.

The World Snooker Tour recently announced that it will stage a minimum of three tournaments in China later this year, including the first world ranking events since 2019.


British number one Cameron Norrie was knocked out of the Madrid Open as China’s world number 99 Zhang Zhizhen’s history-making run continued.

Zhang – the first Chinese man to break into the top 100 – had never before recorded an ATP Masters 1,000 win prior to this year’s tournament in Madrid.

But the 26-year-old battled back from a set down to beat Norrie, ranked 13th, with a 2-6 7-6 (7-2) 7-6 (7-2) win.

Back in November, Norrie signed with UK-based sports management and sponsorship sales business ARETÉ.  


England sealed a Six Nations Grand Slam in front of a record women’s crowd of 58,498 at Twickenham, holding on for victory against France on a landmark day for the sport, with a 38-33 victory.

The Rugby Football Union (RFU) has announced a multi-year partnership with Continental Tyres, which will see stewards outside Twickenham Stadium kitted out in Continental branded uniforms.


Diogo Jota’s injury-time winner gave Liverpool a dramatic victory at Anfield after Tottenham looked on course to salvage a point despite going three goals behind inside 15 minutes.

Liverpool FC has extended its partnership with Central Retail Corporation (CRC Sports), the club’s official retail and licensing partner in Thailand.


Gareth Bale won the Outstanding Contribution to Sport Award at this year’s FEVO Sport Industry Awards on Thursday 27th April in front of an audience consisting of 1,600 sporting stars and industry executives at a sold-out Evolution London.
