England could only manage a disappointing draw against the USA on Friday, missing the chance to seal qualification for the World Cup knockout stage.

Gareth Southgate’s side were second best for long periods of the match, but still remain top of the group and favourites to go through.

Open champion Cameron Smith starred in his home town of Brisbane to win the Fortinet Australian PGA Championship by three strokes.

In September, the PGA TOUR made its move into the world with NFTs when it announced a long-term deal with Autograph – a web3-based brand co-founded by NFL star Tom Brady.

Michael van Gerwen beat Rob Cross 11-6 to win his seventh PDC Players Championship Finals title in 10 years.

The 33-year-old Dutchman threw the 2022 tournament’s only nine-dart finish – the third in its history – and a 170 checkout in the final.

Back in July, The Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) announced that Betfred will remain as title sponsor of the Betfred World Matchplay until at least the end of the 2025 event.
