This weekend, English football’s top flight champions were crowned with Manchester City and Chelsea continuing their dominance. We’ve looked back at the weekend’s highlights…

Manchester City were crowned 2023/24 Premier League champions with a 3-1 win over West Ham United at the Etihad Stadium.

Phil Foden grabbed a first-half brace to calm the nerves at the ground before Mohammed Kudus grabbed a goal back for the Hammers in manager David Moyes’ last game.

Rodri made the result safe with a third for City in the second half to ensure Pep Guardiola’s side sealed their fourth Premier League title in a row.

Now Manchester City’s attention turns to the FA Cup final on Saturday 25th May.

BBC Sport recently reached a sublicensing agreement with TNT Sports to continue providing free-to-air coverage of the Emirates FA Cup.

Any dropped points for Manchester City would have meant that Arsenal could win the title by beating Everton at home.

Mikel Arteta’s men did get the job done with a 2-1 win at the Emirates Stadium but left it late. Kai Havertz grabbed the late winner, but it wasn’t enough to win their first title in 20 years.

The Premier League recently inked a multi-year trading card partnership that will see Fanatics Collectibles replace Panini from June 2025.

In the WSL, Chelsea secured an emphatic 6-0 victory at Manchester United on the final day of the season that meant they beat Manchester City to the title on goal difference.

The win saw Emma Hayes end her reign with a seventh WSL title after 12 years as Chelsea manager.

Last week, the FIFA Council has unanimously approved plans for the inaugural Women’s Club World Cup, which will take place between January and February 2026.

Tyson Fury suffered a split-decision points defeat on a dramatic night in Saudi Arabia as Oleksandr Usyk became boxing’s first four-belt undisputed heavyweight champion.

The scorecards read 115-112 and 114-113 for the Ukrainian, with a third judge scoring it 114-113 to Fury.

It meant Fury lost for the first time in a 16-year professional career. He will get an immediate opportunity for revenge with a rematch planned for later this year.

England completed a 3-0 T20 series clean sweep over Pakistan as Danni Wyatt’s belligerent 87 set up a comfortable 34-run win at Headingley.

The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has launched a new initiative, titled the Big Cricket Conversation, which invites fans, players and stakeholders to have their say on the culture of the sport.
