Snapchat and Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD) have inked a two-year, multi-regional partnership, which will include comprehensive coverage of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

The expanded agreement between the media giant and social media platform will see the launch of ‘Beyond the Olympics,’ a new weekly programme which will deliver localised content for users in the UK and France, including highlights and behind-the-scenes content.

TNT Sports will also launch on the social media platform, providing highlights from UEFA club competitions including the Champions League, Europa League and Conference League.

According to recent research from Snapchat, 65% of 18-24 year olds’ interest in sport has increased, while 47% regard traditional sports fandom as being inaccessible for them.

The deal comes ahead of this summer’s Olympic Games, which will be staged in the French capital between 26th July and 11th August.

“The power of Warner Bros. Discovery’s sports brands and their storytelling capabilities are second to none, which is why we’re so excited to be able to bring this to European Snapchatters every single week through 2026,” said Kahlen Macaulay, Senior Manager of Sports Partnerships at Snapchat.

“We know the appetite our community has for great sports content and the desire to follow, engage and be part of the moment.

“Our partnership with Warner Bros. Discovery serves that demand, starting with Eurosport’s coverage of the biggest global sporting event, the Paris 2024 Olympic Games on Snapchat.”
