The London 2012 Organizing Committee (LOCOG) and the Olympic Delivery Authority (ODA) have revealed that £10m is available to invest in training facilities around the UK in a bid to bring the venues up to world-class standards for use by the London 2012 Olympics. ??
Sports facilities in London and throughout the UK are set to benefir from the programme managed by LOCOG and ODA as part of the legacy of the Games.??
A network of 16 training venues are set to be invested in with a further 12 to be announced by the end of the year.??
Redbridge Sports & Leisure Centre is the first venue to benefit from an overhaul and will provide training for badminton, judo and wrestling during the Olympics.??
The ODA grant will also help build a £6.4m badminton and netball centre, with extra funding from Sport England, Badminton England, the London Marathon Trust and England Netball.
