Adidas Announces Changes To 2012 Team

Adidas UK has announced that they have expanded the role of Barry Moore, head of communications, to include brand marketing for the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, of which adidas is a tier one sponsor.

?Moore’s new responsibilities follow the resignation of Mark Phillips from his position as head of London 2012 brand marketing. ?

Moore currently oversees the communication plans in the UK and Ireland for adidas Sport Performance including football, rugby, cricket, running, women’s and outdoor.??

In addition he is responsible for the communication, planning and execution of adidas brand ambassadors such as Kevin Pietersen, Steven Gerrard, Andy Murray and Jessica Ennis.

?Phillips, who was with the company for eight years and was integral in the execution of the pivotal Impossible is Nothing campaign, will leave adidas mid-December to set up his own consultancy business.?

In addition, Phillips has developed a social networking platform called ‘adiStars’ which will become a focus in 2011.
 
Adidas are the official sportswear partner for London 2012, and will design and produce kit and apparel for Team GB/Paralympics GB and officials, as well as a range of lifestyle products available at retail.??

Adidas recently announced the appointment of Stella McCartney as creative director for Team GB.

Moore will continue to report into Nick Craggs, marketing director for adidas UK and Ireland and will work closely with Erica Kerner, global Olympic Games director and head of London 2012 project, on all London 2012 brand marketing activity.
