Adidas is set to be named as the third top-tier domestic sponsorship partner for
the London 2012 Olympics becoming the official sports apparel brand of the
Games.

Adidas, which is already the kit supplier for Team GB through a deal with the
British Olympic Association, joins Lloyds TSB and EDF Energy is signing up to a
top-tier agreement with LOCOG, the London 2012 organising committee.

The deal will be announced on Thursday with US athletes men’s 100m world
champion Tyson Gay and women’s 200m world champion Allyson Felix flown in by
LOCOG for the launch.

It is not known how much the Adidas contract is worth but media speculation
places the deal at £80m, matching the believed worth of the Lloyds TSB deal.
LOCOG had initially stated that is was looking for up to £100m from each of its
top-tier agreements.

LOCOG is still seeking top-tier sponsors in the airline, telecommunications,
automotive, beer, oil and gas, and clothing and homeware sectors. Further
categories may be added before LOCOG begins its search for tier-two and three
partners.
