Two Circles, the data-driven sports agency that was named Agency of the Year, sponsored by Colouration, at the BT Sport Industry Awards 2014, has announced some significant new appointments and promotions as part of a new three-year strategic plan – Two Circles 2.0.

The company has grown quickly since inception just three years ago, and now has just under 50 employees.

The agency has created a new management structure, with three current team members reporting into Co-Founder Gareth Balch, who assumes the title of Managing Director.

Phil Stephan, former Head of Database Marketing and Insight at Chelsea Football Club, has been appointed as Head of Client Services; Jackie Hunter, formerly of Punch Taverns and Manchester City FC, takes the role of Head of Development and Craig Stoddart, formerly Global Marketing Manager at BP, will act as Head of Client Operations (pictured above, left to right).

These changes to the organisational structure coincide with the appointment of three experienced figures from the customer insight and marketing space.

Kris Gotsch joins Two Circles as a Lead Consultant, having left his position as CRM Manager at Eredivisie, the top Dutch football league. Paul Latham, formerly Business Insight Manager at The Amateur Swimming Association, joins the agency as a Consultant. Sophie Davison is joining as Development Manager from her current role as Head of Information Systems at the Football Foundation.

Matt Rogan, assuming the role of Chief Executive of Two Circles, said: ‘As an agency we believe we are ‘only as good as our last game’ and it makes sense for us to build on our positive start by further investing in the service we provide to our clients. Data is increasingly proving to be the fuel to major revenue streams in sport, and Two Circles 2.0 is designed to accelerate the return data will bring. We are fortunate to have developed a very talented team at all levels of our organisation who are ready to meet the challenges ahead.’

Gareth Balch, Managing Director, added: ‘This is an exciting time for Two Circles. The success of our client work to date has confirmed our view that rights holders and sponsors in sport were missing key elements to enable them to maximise their revenues and returns. This evolution to our structure and investment in our technology infrastructure will further improve the measurable results that we are able to deliver for our clients.’
