Barclays Appoints Havas Se

Havas Sports & Entertainment has been appointed by Barclays to become its global lead sponsorship agency, following a competitive pitch process.

In its new role, Havas SE will support Barclays’ international sponsorship community including the US and Africa, whilst delivering its sponsorship campaigns in the UK.

Havas SE’s remit, which will be led out of the UK office, will include work on Barclays’ title sponsorship of the Premier League and tennis’ season-ending ATP World Tour Finals, as well as CSR led partnerships such as Barclays Spaces for Sports and global sport for development movement, Beyond Sport.

Barclays said in a statement: ‘As part of our strategic sponsorship review we have considered our agency support. We have decided we would be best served by the model of a lead global agency to ensure a consistent approach. We have conducted a competitive pitch and are looking to appoint a new agency shortly.’

‘We would like to put on the record that the agencies we have worked with over many years have provided unstinting support and professionalism, and we thank them for their hard work.’

The partnership will see Havas SE deliver integrated sponsorship services including: partnership relations, content creation, sponsorship insight and evaluation, experiential, and PR and social media management.
