The BBC has increased the breadth of its live coverage of the Paralympics in Beijing on terrestrial television in response to viewer demand.

In response to viewer demand for more network coverage, to complement the six hour live red button coverage, which is also streamed live online, and the hour long Paralympics Games Today highlights show, the BBC has scheduled two additional Paralympic shows for Thursday 11th and Friday 12th September.

The programmes will be 90 minutes in length although there will be no extra red button coverage between 10:30am and 12pm when the programmes air. Coverage on all platforms will be available from 12pm to 4pm.

The move replaces the original plan of 10am-4pm on the red button, website and BBC HD.

These changes do not affect the Paralympics Today, the BBC 2 daily highlights programme screened between 7pm and 8pm, which goes ahead as planned.
