The BBC has confirmed that 55% of middle managers from its sport department will move from London to its new northern England headquarters in Salford.
The 114 middle managers in the sport department had to make a decision by last week and took the average figure of those agreeing to relocate across five divisions to 45%.
BBC sport, children’s, learning, Radio 5 Live and future media and technology will move from London to the new MediaCity development by 2011.
Fifteen out of 32 senior executives have agreed to move, while earlier this month 42% of middle managers outside sport said they would go.
Those who do not move will be made redundant if they cannot be redeployed to other roles in the capital.
Altogether, an estimated 1,400 roles will relocate from London, with about 800 staff currently based at BBC Manchester also moving.
