Following the BBC’s groundbreaking coverage of the Olympic Games, the Sport Industry Group is delighted to announce Barbara Slater, the organisation’s Director of Sport, as the next interviewee for the Nolan Partners Sport Industry Breakfast Club.

Slater, who oversaw BBC coverage which reached 90% of the UK population, will speak at Bloomberg’s stunning central London headquarters on 25th September.

In her position of Director of Sport, Barbara is responsible for all BBC Sport television production, Radio Sport and the Sport website.

Her responsibilities include working with governing bodies to retain a broad portfolio of broadcasting rights, maintaining BBC Sport’s early lead on multi-platform offerings, leading the Division through the move from London to join BBC North in MediaCity, Salford, in 2011, and overseeing coverage of the biggest planned event ever held in the UK – the London Olympic Games.

The BBC’s coverage of the games has been a staggering success, with almost 52 million people – 90% of the population – watching at least 15 minutes and the BBC commanding over a third of all TV viewing.
