As the Official Shortlist for the BT Sport Industry Awards 2014 is unveiled, here’s a little more information about how the Judging Process works.

The Judging Process for the BT Sport Industry Awards is one of the most transparent and stringent procedures of its kind. The Judging Process is fully audited by the Award’s Independent Scrutineers, Deloitte.

Judging for the BT Sport Industry Awards takes place in two phases. Initially, over the course of January, individual Steering Committees comprising of selected industry experts come together for each of the award categories to run the rule over all the entries before finalising the shortlist. The Steering Process involves 50 key industry figures and more than 60 hours of intensive judging before the final shortlist for the BT Sport Industry Awards can be revealed.

With a substantial year-on-year increase in entries for the BT Sport Industry Awards, reaching the Shortlist represents a stellar achievement on the part of the nominees.

This Shortlist then goes forward to the final Judging Panel, featuring some of the leading figures in the industry, who make the final decision on the winner in each category.

The Steering Committee members and Judging Panel feature brands from across the industry, including:

Sony, Oakley, Virgin Active, Twitter, Facebook, Opta, Yahoo!, Weetabix, UK Sport, LMA, Premier League, FEI, Emanate PR, Fight For Peace, BSkyB, Superbrands, The FA, Kantar Media, adidas, Professional Sports Group, The Jockey Club, CNN, Capella PR, talkSPORT, NBA, Arsenal FC, MKTG, RPMC, Ascot, McCann Worldgroup, Havas, Sky Scanner, Starcom Mediavest, Eurostar, Women’s Sport and Fitness Foundation, The Observatory Group, Nike, RFU, MTC, Fulham FC, Football League and more.

Full audited notes of all judges’ comments and thoughts are taken throughout the entire Judging Process, ensuring total transparency and enabling a level of feedback to entrants that is unsurpassed.
