Friends, family and colleagues of CAA’s former head of brand consulting, Andy Kenny, raised over £20,000 with the inaugural Andy Kenny Quiz Night, organised by the agency at The Kia Oval.
The celebration was hosted by radio and television broadcasters Mark Pougatch and Alastair Eykyn, who were close friends of the UK sport industry veteran.
In total, the event brought together 250 attendees who were touched by Kenny over his life.
As well as five rounds of sport and entertainment trivia, the evening included a silent auction and special messages recorded by Geraint Thomas and Alec Stewart, who shared his own fond memories of Andy’s first tour as a sponsorship executive with the England Cricket team.
Kenny passed away at the end of last year, having led CAA’s UK-based sports and entertainment operation, formerly known as BrandRapport, since the start of 2016, serving clients including Allianz, Jaguar Land Rover, Nestlé, Prudential and Samsung. He had been involved with BrandRapport in a range of roles for almost 20 years.
All money raised from the celebration event is being shared amongst the two charities selected by Andy’s family: Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY) and the General Intensive Care Unit at St George’s Hospital.
CRY supports young people diagnosed with potentially life-threatening cardiac conditions and offers bereavement support to families affected by YSCD.
St George’s Hospital Charity supports work to enhance the physical environment of the hospitals for patients, staff and visitors via research and state-of-the-art equipment.
