Canon has continued its commitment as the official imaging partner for the Tour of Britain, with this fifth consecutive year making them the longest running commercial sponsor of the event.

The Tour, which was resurrected in 2004 after a five year absence, begins in London on the 7th of September. With Mark Cavendish winning the thirteenth stage of the Tour de France in July and the British cycling team tipped to top the cycling medal table in Beijing, an extra eighth stage in the North East is designed to take the tour to more of the British public. Cyclists head via the South East, Somerset, the West Midlands, Yorkshire, the North East and Scotland to finish up in Liverpool on Sunday 14th September.

‘Canon has been involved with supporting British and European sporting events for over 30 years and we are delighted to continue our support for The Tour of Britain as one of the top events in the cycling calendar,’ said Canon’s UK and Ireland managing director Andy Vickers.
