Simon Clegg, the chief executive of the British Olympic Association, is moving to a new role focusing on overseeing the team for London 2012.

He will take up an as yet unspecified role overseeing the team’s efforts to reach fourth place in the medal table at the 2012 London Games.

Commented Clegg: ‘I am very happy to be concentrating on developing the 2012 team which will be twice as big this year’s. I was the one of the driving forces behind the target of fourth place. It’s challenging but also achievable.’

A number of other senior management appointments will also be made, and the BOA’s executive board has recommended that the association should move its headquarters from Wandsworth to a more central London location.
