The Co-operative Group, the UK’s largest mutual retailer, will sponsor the World Netball Series taking place in Manchester from 9-11th October.
The top six nations – England, Australia, New Zealand, Jamaica, Samoa and Malawi – have been invited to take part in the series at the MEN in Manchester, which will be broadcast live on Sky Sports in the UK, and a number of international networks worldwide.
For the first time, the series will be introducing a raft of new rule changes which will revolutionise the competition. Shooting from outside the circle for double points, rolling substitutions, and elected “Power Play” quarters worth double points will all make up part of the new regulations.
The Co-operative is already the principal sponsor of the Netball Superleague in the UK, as well as the first ever international Netball Podcast in association with England Netball.
The Co-operative has also been instrumental in championing the bid to have netball included in the Olympic Games, and have secured the support of PM Gordon Brown, Cherie Blair, Dame Kelly Holmes, Denise Lewis, Bryan Robson and over half a million members of the public.
Sports marketing agency Generate Sponsorship will manage the PR and activation of the sponsorship.
