Coca-Cola will promote its commitment to sustainability by asking its staff to sport uniforms made of recycled bottles at the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics.

The company also aims to take this approach at the London 2012 Games as part of its commitment to a delivering a green Olympics.

Each uniform contains up to 120 used plastic bottles and are part of a series to create Coca-Cola’s first ever zero waste sponsorship.

Part of the green initiatives set up by Coca-Cola include zero waste achieved through the use of sustainable packaging and ensuring 100% collection of all plastic containers used throughout Olympic venues.

The drinks company will also be using wood from the pine-beetle epidemic in British Columbia to produce café furniture for the athletes’ village.

Coca-Cola has supported the Olympics Movement since 1928.
