The live sport and on-demand streaming service DAZN has unveiled MultiView, a new feature that will enable subscribers to view up to four live or on-demand events on one screen simultaneously.
The feature provides users with an “immersive multi-screen experience” without the need to connect or cast to alternative screens.
MultiView is to be rolled out on fourth and fifth generation Apple TV devices for all live and on-demand coverage.
Subscribers to the OTT platform in the US, Canada, Japan, Italy, Germany, Austria and Switzerland, will be able to access MultiView using the Apple TV remote to then select multiple videos to watch at the same time.
Commenting on the feature, Ben Lavender, DAZN Chief Product Officer, said: “The Multiview function means fans never need miss a second of their favourite sports.
“DAZN is paving the way to a whole new sport watching experience. Compared to traditional linear TV, DAZN users now have the ability watch two, three or four games at once with a few clicks – it’s a game changer.”
Richard Gianetti, DAZN Senior Product Manager, added: “There are many concurrent live fixtures on the DAZN platform and giving fans the freedom to watch multiple events at once in an immersive way was a natural improvement for the product.”
The announcement arrives ahead of DAZN’s launch later this year in both the Spanish and Brazilian market, where DAZN’s split-screen MultiView function will also be made available.
The sports subscription service has secured exclusive broadcast rights in those markets, with an agreement to stream Premier League, MotoGP and EuroLeague basketball in Spain, whilst it will stream Italy’s Serie A TIM, France’s Ligue 1 and the South American competition Copa Sudamericana in Brazil.
