Christophe Dubi has been appointed to the post of sports director at the
International Olympic Committee, replacing the departing Kelly Fairweather who
resigned last month.
Dubi was previously responsible for the IOC’s management strategy and
development of the Olympic Games, working closely with IOC executive director
Gilbert Felli.
Dubi, who takes on the role in August, has also worked closely with IOC
president Jacques Rogge on delivering the Youth Olympic Games concept which is
set to be presented to the IOC board at the next meeting later this week.
‘It is a privilege to be given the opportunity to work at the heart of the
organisation, contributing actively to the promotion of sport within the Olympic
Movement’, said Dubi.
‘I will take on this new task with energy and enthusiasm. I will endeavour to
continue the impressive work undertaken by Kelly Fairweather in establishing
strong relationships with the International Federations.’
