Engine Snaps Up Karen Earl Sponsorship

Karen Earl Sponsorship, which counts Guinness, npower and Coca-Cola among its
clients, has been bought by The Engine Group, becoming the tenth marketing
services agency to join the independent network.

Engine has bought the sponsorship consultancy from previous owner Media
Square for an undisclosed sum with the deal done through financial advisers
Ingenious Corporate Finance.

Karen Earl Sponsorship is a full service
sponsorship agency providing strategic consultancy through to sponsorship
activation, working for sponsors and rights owners alike.

Engine is now the
largest privately owned marketing services group in the UK with the latest
acquisition the third this year coming in line with its business plan to grow
significantly its business over the next three years.  Other agencies that form
part of Engine include advertising agency WCRS and digital agency Meme.

Peter
Scott, CEO of Engine, commented: ‘Rapid changes in the media landscape have
increased clients’ interest in programme content and engaging with customers’
passions across sport, music and the arts. London winning the 2012 Olympics has
impacted on public, corporate and political interest in sport and will attract
further funding and sponsorship.’

The buyout will not affect the management
structure of Karen Earl Sponsorship with Karen Earl retaining her role as
managing director.
