Eurosport has extended its long-running association with the Sport Industry Awards in a partnership that will see the pan-European broadcaster sponsor the new Best Live Experience category, added to the prestigious Sport Industry Awards roster by public demand.

The Best Live Experience category, which will recognise the very best in both experiential marketing and fan experience, has been launched by the industry’s flagship event due to popular demand following an extensive review process which included both focus groups and an online survey of the industry.

Eurosport will back the category as well as continuing its role of Official Partner to the Sport Industry Awards – a partnership which includes an array of branding opportunities and other rights both in advance of the Awards ceremony and on the night.

‘Our long-running partnership with the Sport Industry Awards is due to our belief that the creativity, effort and innovation of the sport industry is unmatched, and every year we see new boundaries being broken,’ said Heather Bowler, Director of Global Communications at Eurosport. ‘Live sport is at the heart of Eurosport’s DNA and our prime objective is to offer the best possible viewer and fan experience around live events. So sponsoring this exciting new category was a natural choice for us and we are keen to see who enters and how they have engaged with fans.’

The Sport Industry Awards 2013 will once again bring together more than 1,750 of the sport industry’s key representatives at a star-studded gathering that will celebrate the outstanding commercial achievements in sport this year across marketing, PR, sponsorship, talent management, advertising, community investment and branding
