The FA Cup’s third round reached a total of 11.6 million viewers on BBC Sport, the public service broadcaster has revealed.
A peak audience of 7.4 million watched Manchester United’s win against Arsenal on Sunday, accounting for an audience share of 41.1%.
Last Saturday, Manchester City’s victory over Salford City delivered a peak audience of 3.2 million.
Throughout the weekend there were 10.5m iPlayer requests for coverage of the matches, of which 4.3 million were for the United’s clash with Arsenal.

“We’re proud to be able to bring millions of people together to enjoy moments of live sport like these on free-to-are platforms, whether it’s on TV, radio or online.”
Turnstile has opened a new office in Munich, adding to its existing locations in the United Kingdom, Australia, and the US.
Patrick Nowak, who has more than 15 years of sports industry experience, has been appointed to lead Turnstile’s operations in Germany, and the wider DACH region.
The move reflects Turnstile’s ongoing expansion within Europe, as well as the increasing demand for independent, data-driven sponsorship valuations from rights holders and brands.

Hockey Wales has inked a two-year deal with Grilla, who will serve as the hydration partner of the Welsh national teams.
Grilla’s logo will feature on the shorts and skorts of Wales’ international hockey kits over the next two years.
As part of the partnership, Grilla will also focus on educating younger members of the Welsh hockey community about the importance of hydration.
