Sports marketing agency Fast Track has been appointed by Gold Challenge to handle event management for the UK’s only Olympic and Paralympic sport based charity challenge.
The Gold Challenge event will offer the opportunity for members of the public to run 100m in the Olympic Stadium watched by friends, family and a cheering crowd of around 20,000, and will be among the first people in the world to run the 100m on the track.
Taking place on Sunday 1st April, Gold Challenge is one of the official London 2012 legacy projects and has been confirmed by the London Organising Committee for the Olympic Games and Paralympic Games (LOCOG) as the host of a key test event in the Olympic Stadium.
The Gold Challenge event will be a thank you to people who have been inspired by London 2012 to get active and raise money for one of Gold Challenge’s 150 charity partners, in partnership with the British Olympic Association and Sport England.
Mark De St Croix, business director at Fast Track, said: ‘We are delighted to be working with Gold Challenge on their Olympic Stadium Challenge, which gives a once in a lifetime opportunity for members of the public to experience their Olympic dream. We are excited to be part of the first official test event for the Olympic Stadium.’
Sarah Forbes, Gold Challenge director added: ‘We are delighted to be working with Fast Track to host this important event in the lead up to the Olympic and Paralympic Games.’
‘Delivering an event in the Olympic Stadium ahead of the Games is something that needs the experience and knowledge that Fast Track has which makes them the ideal partner. What greater inspiration to take up a challenge in 2012 and raise money for charity than a chance to go to the Olympic Stadium.’
Tickets for the event are currently on sale.
