Former Chief Leaves Boa

The British Olympic Association has announced that former chief executive Simon Clegg is leaving the organisation after nearly 20 years.

Replaced as chief executive earlier this year, Clegg also served as chef de misson in Beijing, where Team GB saw its most success Olympics in over a century, bringing home 47 medals, 19 of them gold, and coming in fourth on the medal table.

Clegg joined the BOA in 1989 as assistant general secretary. He became the organisation’s first chief executive in 1997 and saw six summer and winter Olympics as chef de mission for Team GB.
