Gordon Lott, who helped run Lloyds TSB’s London 2012 sponsorship, has been appointed new managing director of Havas Sports & Entertainment UK, overseeing the agency’s London office.
Lott, who left the bank at the end of 2012, replaces Keith Impey who will switch to a role focused on the global side of Havas’ business after seven years in charge of its UK division.
In December, Havas Sports & Entertainment announced a strategic partnership with independent Brazilian experiential marketing agency, Benza Promotions & Events, ahead of the 2014 FIFA World Cup and Rio 2016 Olympic and Paralympic Games in the South American country.
Lucien Boyer, Havas Sports & Entertainment’s president and global chief executive, said: ‘We are thrilled that Gordon will be heading up the London team. He brings a wealth of experience in sponsorship and brand activation, having delivered a meaningful and commercially-successful Olympic partnership programme for Lloyds that created a legacy with employees, customers and communities across the UK.’
Mark Craze, CEO, Havas Media Group UK, commented: ‘We are excited to welcome Gordon to manage and grow the HS&E UK operation. Having the right talent pool and leadership team is essential to our success. Gordon’s appointment will help develop synergies and new business opportunities with Cake Group, Havas Media, and the rest of Havas in the UK at an important moment of the development and integration for our Group.’
Lott added: ‘I’m delighted to be joining HS&E and collaborating with ignition, Seven46, and Havas Media agencies in the UK. This is a really exciting time for the UK business, and the wider marketing and sponsorship industry, with so many opportunities arising through changes in how consumers and brands are engaging with each other.’
‘It’s a fantastic opportunity for me to bring my experience as the ‘client’ and help create what I hope will be an agency recognised as best in class, working with brands, rights-holders and other key partners.’
