Havas Sports & Entertainment has strengthened its London-based UK office with the appointment of three new senior executives: Formula 1 specialist, Nick Hayes; research specialist, Anna Semens; and former LOCOG senior press officer, Julie Burley.
Nick Hayes has been appointed relationship director for burn Energy Drink’s partnership with the Lotus F1 Team. Hayes will be planning and delivering burn’s activation at each race of the 2013 Formula 1 calendar, as well as managing the team’s relationship with The Coca-Cola Company, Lotus F1’s Official Beverage Partner.
Nick previously spent six seasons working with the Williams F1 Team, where he oversaw global activations with Philips, BP and Bridgestone. He joins HS&E from the Rugby Football Union, where as commercial partnerships manager, he oversaw the integration of the new Canterbury kit deal and England Rugby partnerships with RBS, Guinness and BMW.
Dr Anna Semens also joins HS&E as senior account director to help lead the agency’s growing insight and strategy offer, working with clients including The Football Association, Chelsea FC, Lawn Tennis Association, and Laureus. Anna joins HS&E from The University of Liverpool, where she was director of development in Football industries, and has more than ten years strategic consultancy and research management experience working with sponsors, clubs, governing bodies, media companies, and host cities. Previously, she was formerly head of research at Sportcal and deputy director of the Centre for the International Business of Sport.
Account director, Julie Burley, has joined fresh from the London 2012 Organising Committee (LOCOG) Press Office team, where she handled sponsor PR and activation, international media relations and the International Inspiration programme. Burley was also the LOCOG PR lead for the Paralympic Games. She will work across HS&E ignition’s portfolio of Olympic clients, including Atos, and its growing communications and content division, which counts Asda, Bloomberg Sports, Perform at St George’s Park, Sky Sports and We R Interactive as current clients.
The move follows the appointment of Gordon Lott as managing director, HS&E UK in January, 2013.
Commenting on appointments, Gordon Lott, managing director, Havas Sports & Entertainment UK, said: ‘HS&E ignition’s focus is on producing best in class work for our clients across sport, entertainment and social agendas, so it’s essential that we recruit the best talent to help achieve our ambitions. I’m delighted that we have appointed three ambitious and highly talented individuals to join our team and I look forward to working with them to deliver more award-winning work for our clients.’
